Cole Valley Tree Locations
The yellow-flowered New Zealand Christmas Tree at 1221 Stanyan, near 17th, is a standout tree with an interesting history, having been planted by the late Victor Reiter, San Francisco's premier plantsman. The Northern rata at 893 Clayton is also a very rare tree, one of only a few in San Francisco. Cole Valley has other tree-related items of interest, such as the angel carved from the trunk of a Monterey Cypress at 1591 Shrader, and the hidden garden behind Stanyan Street.
