Trees of San Francisco is now available!   Here is Pomegranate's announcement

The Trees of San Francisco is a book about San Francisco's street trees -- containing photos and interesting text about the 75 or so most common trees that that you'll find on the streets of San Francisco.  The book also has neighborhood walking tours (the Castro, Cole Valley, the Mission, Pacific Heights, Potrero Hill, the Financial District and Parnassus Heights) that take you  to interesting trees in San Francisco's most interesting neighborhoods.  The book also provides addresses for landmark trees of over 200 species.

The Trees of San Francisco  grew out of this web site, and took over two years to complete.  I tried to write the book to be entertaining and interesting to the average reader, so please help out a first-time author (and a small, local Marin County publisher), and buy the book ($19.95)!  It's available at bookstores citywide, including Stacey's, Books Inc., Green Apple, Waldenbooks, B. Daltons, Cover to Cover in Noe Valley, as well as at Egg in Cole Valley, and Doe in the Lower Haight.
