Red (and Orange) Flowering Gums

September 11, 2021 by Michael Sullivan

I had to find some way to get a 2021 post about my favorite San Francisco tree species, before its season was over. Today I happened to be in the Richmond near the Presidio border, and spotted this row of red flowering gums (Corymbia ficifolia) at 25 15th Avenue. A little past their peak (they usually peak in late July), but cool to see red and orange-flowering specimens side by side!
